Introducing UNHOLY — And Starting the Devlog UNHOLY is a top-down supernatural horror action game set in Black River, a small American town where a series of ritual murders begins to reveal something far worse hiding beneath the surface. You play as an experienced demon hunter who arrives in town after receiving a call from a local priest. What begins as an investigation soon turns into something much bigger. The game combines investigation, exploration and combat. You'll examine crime scenes, search for evidence, investigate supernatural events, learn rituals, fight demons and other creatures, and gradually uncover what is happening in Black River. I'm developing UNHOLY in Unreal Engine 5. And from now on, I'm going to document its development here. I don't want these devlogs to be just a collection of polished screenshots and announcements. I want to show the actual process of making the game — new mechanics, locations, enemies, weapons, experiments, things that worked, things that didn't, and the inevitable strange bugs along the way. There is already a lot to show, so I'll gradually cover both what has already been built and what I'm currently working on. Right now, development continues one system and one location at a time. Welcome to UNHOLY. And welcome to Black River.
A living home for indie games: dev logs, player feedback, reviews, studios, and the community around everything being built.
