Minecraft’s Chaos Cubed Drop Lands on Nintendo Switch

Minecraft’s free Chaos Cubed drop is live on Nintendo Switch, adding sulfur cubes, sulfur caves, geysers, new blocks, and the Bounce music disc.

Minecraft’s free Chaos Cubed update is now available on Nintendo Switch, adding sulfur cubes, sulfur caves, geysers, new blocks, and a new music disc.

Nintendo has confirmed that Minecraft’s Chaos Cubed game drop is now available for Nintendo Switch. The update was posted on Nintendo’s official news page on June 16, 2026, and highlights a new set of features built around the strange and playful sulfur cube mob.

The sulfur cube is a new passive mob found in sulfur caves. Players can feed it different blocks, which can change how the cube behaves. Depending on what it absorbs, the mob can gain effects such as bouncing, sliding, sinking, and more. Nintendo also notes that players can leash sulfur cubes or scoop them up with a bucket.

The update also introduces the new sulfur cave biome, with sulfur and cinnabar blocks, sulfur spikes, hostile mobs, sulfur springs, and geysers. Springs can cause Nausea through sulfurous gas, while geysers can launch water upward under the right conditions. The drop also adds potent sulfur, which interacts with water and magma blocks, plus a new Bounce music disc found in certain mineshaft chests.

Nintendo describes Chaos Cubed as a free software update, but players need a broadband internet connection to download it. No paid DLC price is listed in the post.
